We propose the deployment of millimeter-wave MIMO for joint vehicular high speed communication and high resolution radar sensing. To cope with the significant hardware complexity, we consider the use of low resolution analog-to-digital converters (ADC) while maintaining a separate radio-frequency chain per antenna. The system performance is analyzed in terms of Cramér Rao lower bound and achievable data rate, and compared to the ideal case with infinite resolution ADCs. Additionally, we study the impact of quantization on the trade-off between these performance metrics. Numerical results demonstrate the potential of the concept to meet the challenging requirements of next-generation vehicles.
