In this paper we present a modification to the AVO equation. Two geophysical parameters ⌂I/I and ⌂K/K (the zero offset P-wave reflectivity and a scaled version of the zero offset Swave<br>reflectivity respectively) are estimated from the variation of amplitude with offset. It is demonstrated on a synthetic data set how lithology and pore fluid are predicted from these<br>parameters, and a case history from offshore South Africa is shown.
