Wireless Body Area Network (WBAN) is an advance technology in microelectronics and integrated circuit design. The main objective of WBAN is to collect the patients' vital physiological parameters or signals and forward it to the medical centre in a reliable and efficient way. Routing is an important task in a WBAN. The main purpose of this paper is to study and compare different routing techniques of WBAN and propose one that can handle data heterogeneity of healthcare environment and set priority to data as per requirement. This paper is significant in showing direction for researchers who want to work on design of WBAN routing protocols and algorithms for healthcare monitoring.
