The House of Commons Health Committee’s most recent report on the maternity services called for a reappraisal of the way in which postnatal care is delivered. The authors conducted a survey which suggested that women’s health and needs are indeed neglected in the postnatal period, and they argue that better prevention and treatment of the problems that occur, and support are needed.
