This paper introduces a power electronic building block for high-power dc-dc converters based on a commercial off-the-shelf silicon carbide (SiC) module. The electrical, thermal and mechanical design aspects of the 42 kW bidirectional 3-phase dc-dc converter at a switching frequency of 150 kHz with a power density of 43kW/dm 3 , including electromagnetic interference (EMI) filter, are described and results of transient and efficiency measurements are presented.
