Novel carbon dots (CDs) were fabricated by a hydro-thermal method, in which reduced <sc>l</sc>-glutathione was considered as the precursor and ethylenediamine as the passivating agent. Subsequently, the chemical structure and fluorescence stability of the CDs were thoroughly investigated.
