Macrophages, Smooth Muscle Cells, and Tissue Factor in Unstable Angina

Abstract

Tissue factor content is increased in unstable angina and correlates with areas of macrophages and smooth muscle cells, suggesting a cell-mediated thrombogenicity in patients with acute coronary syndromes.
