The study of the diameter and the growth of archaeological wood is indispensable for the understanding of wood supply management. Measurements of the radius curvature and the widths of rings can be obtained by the observation of the growth rings which are a good gauge. Using image analysis allows for the best accuracy of measurement, but these techniques are particularly time consuming. The creation of the AnthracoLoJ application by Géolab laboratory permits the proliferation and the standardization of a part of these measurements. Using this method, only characteristic points are necessary to calculate a radius (the distance between the outer ring and the heart of wood).
