Schools that offer medical, mental health, and social services are proliferating. Yet school psychologists typically have a minor role in such full-service schools. This article outlines a conceptualization of these schools, with special attention given to three specific roles that school psychologists can fill in full-service schools. These roles include serving as a team member of an interdisciplinary group, serving as the coordinator of this group, or serving as a university-based consultant. Implications for the training of school psychologists and potential role expansion in the specialty are discussed, including obstacles that must be overcome.
