Among the binary systems made up by aqueous solutions of polyalcohols studied until now, for the same water contents, the symmetric molecule of 1,3-propanediol most favours the ice crystallization, contrary to the asymmetric molecule of 1,-2-propanediol. The stability of the wholly amorphous state is stationary then decreases as 1-3-propanediol replaces progressively 1 ,-2propanediol, for a given water content. The kind of reversed S shape of the variation of Td when the ratio of the two solutes varies confirms the generality of this type of variation.
