Codeposition of Alpha- and Gamma-Alumina with Copper from Copper Sulphate Baths

Abstract

SummaryThis paper presents the results of a study on the codeposition of α- and γ-alumina with copper from copper sulphate baths. It was possible to show that codeposition of γ-alumina can be achieved as well as that of α-alumina. The effects of electrolysis conditions and addition agents on the codeposition of both types of alumina were investigated. The important role played by adsorbed ions on alumina was demonstrated.
