Binary diagrams of mesomorphous compounds exhibiting singular points

Abstract

Binary diagrams (temperature-concentration) oi mixtures of mesomorphic compounds are presented which exhibit second order transition lines and polycritical points. Orientational order parameter and transition enthalpy are studied along these lines in the vicinity of singularities. The comparison with Landau tricritical point theories is satisfactory. The observation of different singular points involves the definition of more complicated polycritical points.
