Abstract

This paper describes an approach for assessment a courseware for the power electronics course for the 3 rd year undergraduate students. Test benches for students have been designed and implemented to enhance a learning skill. A general basic switching converter such as buck converter, boost converter, and buck-boost converter are firstly considered. Then, using the mentioned converters to innovate a dc-ac converter is introduced as an advanced application. The pre-test and post-test for an example student group reveal that learning through hands on makes better learning.
