Abstract

Most books on x-ray diffraction relate to crystalline materials (where the solving of structures has become a rather mechanical process) and, because of the breadth of the subject, are either very superficial or indulge in considerable mathematical detail. It is refreshing, therefore, to encounter a volume which views diffraction from a different position and in which the interpretation of a diffraction pattern from matter having limited order is the important objective of the text and not the theory behind the pattern.
