Insulin resistance in HIV-infected youth is associated with decreased mitochondrial respiration

Abstract

HIV-infected youth with IR have lower mitochondrial respiration markers when compared to youth without IR. Disordered mitochondrial respiration may be a potential mechanism for IR in this population.
