Heterostructure photocatalysts based on MoS<sub>2</sub> modified environment friendly Zn–AgIn<sub>5</sub>S<sub>8</sub> quantum dots were developed exhibiting high photocatalytic activity, where enhanced charge transfer to MoS<sub>2</sub> was observed not only from the quantum dots but also from the dyes.
