Relations between attenuation and phase shift of microwave signals at 9.4 GHz and moisture content, density, and temperature of grain for different varieties of wheat are presented. Differences in bulk density appeared to be the main factor limiting the accuracy of moisture content measurement by the microwave method, thus a few means of minimizing or eliminating this effect are considered in the paper.
