Abstract

Intenal corrosion of sour gas transmission pipelines from offshore platforms was found to be associated with microorganisms. The isolated bacteria were analyzed by gene sequence and studied in detail by transmission electron microscopy. Associated pitting corrosion ans weight loss measurements with severe corrosion rates were also found. The bacteria were influenced corrosion in hydrocarbon transmission.
