Development of Phosphors for LEDS

Abstract

Light emitting diodes are based on semiconductors, which emit spontaneous radiation under suitable forward bias conditions. The basic principle is based on low field injection electroluminescence where light is generated when injected minority carriers recombine with the majority carriers radiatively across the band gap of the crystal.
