Abstract

CuS nanoparticles were prepared with chitosan as the synthesis template at normal temperature by in situ synthesis method. The morphology of CS/CuS nanocomposite film was examined by scanning electron microscopy, and the thermal behaviour of nanoparticles film was investigated by differential scanning calorimeter (DSC). The synthesised nanocomposite is the most stable form of CuS than CS. The binding of CS to the nanoparticles was confirmed by Fourier transform infrared. Optical characteristics of film were studied by the approaches of ultraviolet–visible spectroscopy and fluorescence; the experimental results indicated that the fluorescence emission of the nanocomposite films is very sensitive to the presence of phenolic. And microamount of phenolic makes the emissions increase dramatically. It is predicted that the films may be developed into an excellent sensing films for phenolic.
