The inter and intra observer variations for a knee goniometer have been quantitated and found to be acceptable. Diurnal variation in knee movement did not occur in a group of controls and patients with rheumatoid arthritis. The goniometer assessed is a simple, reliable and accurate tool for measurement of changes in knee joint motion.
