Abstract

AMPKα1 phosphorylated protein inhibitor of activated STAT-1 to promote Runx2 SUMOylation and subsequently lead to its instability. AMPKα1 deficiency in VSMC increased Runx2 expression and promoted atherosclerotic calcification in vivo.
