Abstract

Thirty hyperthyroid subjects were allocated to control, low‐dose (15 mg.), and high‐dose (30 mg.) groups and were observed for one week. Thyroid function tests were unchanged. Heart rate was decreased by pindolol, the effect being dose‐dependent. The duration of ankle jerk was prolonged, and half the patients were subjectively improved. Blood pressure and forearm blood flow were not influenced. Nausea occurred in 2 patients.
