To provide an initial assessment of families with children conceived by artificial insemination with donor semen (AID), 50 couples were interviewed when the children were between one and three years of age. Information was obtained about the obstetric outcome, child development, and the couples' reaction to AID. It was concluded that no major obstetric, paediatric, or emotional problems were apparent.
