A fungus (strain 01), isolated from the protocorms of germinated seeds of Gastrodia elata, produced many fruit-bodies. The fungus was identified as Mycena osmundicola Lange, a new record of China. The seeds could germinate when using the tree leaves infected by strain 01 or M. osmundicola sowing with the seeds of G. elata. Band numbers and mobility of esterase isoezbyme of strain 01 and M. osmundicola showed no difference by means of polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis. The specimens are deposited in Institute of Medicinal Plant Development Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences.
