Complex resistivity logging(CRL) is a newly developed logging technique based on frequency dispersion properties of rocks. However, there is no unanimous understanding towards the frequency dispersion mechanisms of CRL.Through theoretical calculations, rock dispersion experiment analysis, and the experimental data fitting by using Cole-Cole Model,it was proved that the induce polarization effect is the main factor of causing rock dispersion within the frequency range of 10 kHz.It also proved the possibility to apply electrode-type logging instrument for CRL method base on the dispersion property experimental research when simulating the downhole environment.
