ObjectiveTo know infection status of HIV,HCV and syphilis, and estimate HIV incident rate among men who have sex with men(MSM) population in Urumqi.MethodsOne hundred and forty-five volunteers were recruited by network, and 143 blood samples of them collected to carry out preliminary screening of HIV,HCV,and syphilis. The positive samples of HIV were ascertained with WB and detected recent infection with HIV subtypes B,E and D IgG capture enzyme immunoassay(BED-CEIA).ResultsOut of the MSM volunteers, there was HIV positive rate of 5.6%(8/143) with incident rate of 6.74%(CI 0.13%-13.35%) and syphilis positive rate of 9.8%(14/143).For HCV,all of the 143 volunteers were negative.Conclusions(1)HIV positive rate(5.6%) closes to its estimated incident rate(6.74%),which provide effective data for trend prediction of HIV prevalence.(2) Infectious rate of syphilis among MSM population is higher,STI prevention and control is important guarantee for preventing HIV transmission through sex.
