Cloud-computing has emerged as a promising technology to allow boosting a wide range of emerging applications with high processing and storage capabilities, while providing ubiquitous and safe access. Within the list of could-enabled applications, eHealth attracts special attention due to its mission critical requirements, social appeal and innovating opportunities. In our previous work, we proposed the Multi eHealth Cloud Service Framework (MeCa), a holistic cloud-enabled approach, embodying a hub of innovating services that seeks to allow the design of new smart eHealth applications and services. In this work, we present performance evaluation study from migrating MeCa to a Fog computing scenario to obtain performance-improved perspectives. The evaluation results of MeCa on a real testbed, demonstrated its capabilities in enabling to run mobile eHealth applications while achieving enough performance rates in terms to network load, CPU and energy consumption. The conclusions of this work, allows to provide future trends in Fog-enabled mobile eHealth.
