A method for measuring accurately the position of the cloth fell on a loom is described. The results of such measurements are correlated with measurements of pickspacing in the fabric and are discussed in the light of the theory developed in Parts I and II of this series. The relation between beat-up force and pickspacing is illustrated by means of a static weaving model.
