Quantitative determination of soluble elemental sulfur by gas-liquid chromatography (GLC) using glass columns packed with QF-1, QF-1/SE-30, and OV-17 liquid phases and either an electron capture detector (ECD) or a flame photometric detector (FPD) in the sulfur mode is described. The minimum quantities of sulfur detectable were 0.1 and 2.2 ng with ECD and FPD respectively.
