By some analyses, family life education (FLE) can be viewed as a profession which is suffering because it has split into too many non-productive sub-specializations. This article calls for a reintegration of the field, starting with the identification of the essence of FLE as found in its many splinter specialities and ending with an understanding of what specialities belong in the field and how they relate to each other. Practical suggestions for rmioving in these directions are offered.
