Reduction of Intracellular Chloride Concentration Promotes Foam Cell Formation

Abstract

This data provide strong evidence that reduction of [Cl(-)]iis a critical contributor to intracellular lipid accumulation, suggesting that modulation of [Cl(-)]iis a novel avenue to prevent foam cell formation and atherosclerosis.
