Abstract

Performance on a visual discrimination task correlated positively with blood alcohol concentrations of less than 0.02% and negatively with concentrations in the range of 0.04–0.05%. Smokers after smoking and nonsmokers performed differently, suggesting that nicotine in some way alters the effect of alcohol.
