Abstract

Malowany, Moises S., Chester, Brent, and Allerhand, Jona: Isolation and microbiologic differentiation of Klebsiella rhinoscleromatis and Klebsiella ozaenae in cases of chronic rhinitis. Am. J. Clin. Pathol. 58: 550–553, 1972. Isolation of the causative microorganisms in a case of rhinoscleroma and a case of ozena is reported. K. rhinoscleromatis and K. ozaenae were differentiated on the basis of their biochemical and serologic properties. The feasibility and importance of the identification of these microorganisms in the hospital laboratory are discussed.
