Abstract

A cannula of lucite, a strong transparent plastic, with a screw cap has been designed for installation in a permanent fistula as a means of gaining convenient access to the rumen. The construction of the cannula and the operative technique for its installation are described. It has been used successfully for 1 goat, 5 cows, and 19 sheep.
