The Raman spectrum of C 2 D 6 at 1 atm pressure was photographed with a spectral resolution of ~ 0.4 cm −1 . Of the six Raman-active fundamentals, v 1 , v 2 , v 3 , v 10 , and v 11 were observed, and the rotational structures of v 2 , v 3 , and v 10 were analyzed. The structure of v 10 confirms the D 3d model for the molecule and the analysis gave A 0 = 1.3416 cm −1 . This value, along with recent infrared values of B 0 for C 2 H 6 and C 2 D 6 , gives r 0 (C—H) ≡ r 0 (C—D) = 1.0914 ± 0.0003 Å, r 0 (C—C) = 1.5362 ± 0.0005 Å, and [Formula: see text].
