The lines αdouble prime, α', α3, α3', α4 in the spectra of neon and a few of its neighbours (10 less-than-or-eq, slant Z less-than-or-eq, slant 14) are identified as K-1L-1->L-2 transitions. For this purpose the case Z = 10 was analysed using earlier self-consistent-field results together with optical term values and intensity considerations. The necessary Z-dependences were developed by means of Layzer's theory.
