Abstract

THIS work was originally begun to investigate the possible advantages or disadvantages of liver therapy in connection with the nutritional require- ments of the growing mammalian organism, and as such the first investigation was undertaken to see if an animal fed on a basal diet containing all the known vitamins and accessory food factors showed any extra growth response when small amounts of fresh liver were fed in addition. There were a few references in the literature which indicated a beneficial effect of feeding whole liver on the growth rate of the animal.
