Automotive torque measurement: A summary of seven different methods

Abstract

Various methods of torque measurement which are utilized in the automotive industry are reviewed. Seven methods are described in order of usage, starting with the most frequently used types and continuing to less frequently used types of torque measurement. Performance limitations for each method of torque measurement also are summarized.
