Abstract

This essay presents our understanding of constructionism, our structural approach to practice, and what we consider important issues of power and conflict in the United States. One practice activity-consciousness-raising-is used to illustrate what practice informed by these three perspectives looks like. Some ways to help students understand social constructionism are elaborated.
