The incidence of anastomotic leaks in patients undergoing colorectal surgery

Abstract

Within this surgical unit, the incidence of leaks from intraabdominal anastomoses was relatively low. However, leaks in patients undergoing extraperitoneal anastomoses continue to be a major cause of morbidity and mortality.
