Abstract

Tweezing out the answer: A microfluidic device combining droplets (less than 100 nL) and magnetic particles (see scheme) was implemented for fast heterogeneous multiplexed assays. Magnetic tweezers can perform the manipulations required in an immunoassay (capture, extraction, mixing, and rinsing). This method was applied to the diagnosis of congenital hypothyroidism with 14 pM sensitivity. Detailed facts of importance to specialist readers are published as ”Supporting Information”.
