Abstract

On the sunny side: A new photocatalyst effects hydrogen evolution from an aqueous solution containing S2− and SO32− ions. The photocatalyst is a Ru-loaded solid solution of ZnS–CuInS2–AgInS2 and works in visible light, e. g. under simulated solar irradiation (λ≥420 nm; see picture: CB conducting band, VB valence band).
