Abstract An expensive computer‐operated system suitable for data collection and steady‐state optimum control of fermentation processes is presented. With this system, minimum generation time has been determined as a function of temperature and pH in the turbidostat cultivation of a yeast strain. The applicability of the computer‐fermentor system is also presented by the determination of the dynamic K L a value.
