In vivo there is evidence for a decreased covalent binding of aflatoxin B 1 to DNA following low-level feeding with the toxin. It is suggested that this is due to increased detoxification of aflatoxin B 1 by conjugation with reduced glutathione. Evidence indicating increased levels of reduced glutathione and glutathione S-trans-ferase activity are presented.
