Antiretroviral Preexposure Prophylaxis for Heterosexual HIV Transmission in Botswana

Abstract

Daily TDF-FTC prophylaxis prevented HIV infection in sexually active heterosexual adults. The long-term safety of daily TDF-FTC prophylaxis, including the effect on bone mineral density, remains unknown.
