Increased Risk of Common Infections in Patients with Type 1 and Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus

Abstract

Patients with DM1 and DM2 are at increased risk for lower respiratory tract infection, urinary tract infection, and skin and mucous membrane infection. Studies are warranted into management of such infections in patients with diabetes.
