Abstract

We have performed a total of 13 matricectomies in 9 patients utilizing the carbon dioxide laser. To date, there have been no complications and minimal morbidity from this technique. With follow-up ranging from 8 to 24 months, no patient has experienced regrowth of nail at the treated site. In conclusion, we believe that carbon dioxide laser ablation is an effective technique for performing nail matricectomy.
