Nonbonded attraction in organic molecules and substituent effects on nonbonded attraction

Abstract

Lone pairs can interact with each other and also with adjacent bonds, and this results in net lone pair attraction which is subject to substituent effects; experimental results are in agreement with these general qualitative conclusions.
