REMARKABLY little is known about normal or experimental blood glucose levels or the behavior of the pancreatic islet cells in reptiles. The present study concerns the determination of the blood glucose levels and the histological aspects of the pancreatic islet cells in several species of lizards in the fed and fasted states, and after alloxan and insulin administration.
